How does the app work?

The Chirp app incorporates three different types of value: (euro) Balance, Credits and Chirps. Three separate sections that make up your account, clearly displayed.

Balance

This is the payment section of the App. Balance represents money in euros received or deposited into your Chirp account. From this balance payments can be made by scanning a QR code at any participating merchant or third-party. Payment is always easy whether this QR code is displayed at the checkout, online, on paper or perhaps on a television screen.

Credits

Here is where all your accumulated discounts and credits from your favorite retailers are stored and managed. Depending the merchant, credits can be issued in miles, stamps, euros or other units of value. Here you’ll get insight into marketing campaigns in which you participate, see until when promotions runs and when and how to redeem at the issuing retailer. Always carry your discounts with you and never miss out on benefits again.

Participating in a marketing campaign of a particular retailer can be done in different ways. For instance; earn credits automatically via every payment you make at a specific retailer, or you may actively collect a discount by scanning a QR code from a discount voucher.

Chirps

Chirps are loyalty points issued by Chirp itself. Within the Early Bird program Chirps can be regarded as an ‘internal currency’ in Chirp’s ecosystem. You receive Chirps when you initiate payment transactions with retailers. This is how we reward you for choosing Chirp.

In addition, you can collect Chirps when you introduce Chirp to your circles of friends. That’s why you’ll also find here your personal QR code that you can distribute to connect new people to Chirp who then will be linked to your account. When they make payments at merchants, you will earn Chirps as well. Your friends in turn may also connect their circles of friends creating a true network of Chirp ambassadors.

Watch the growth of your network and track their contribution towards your total balance of earned Chirps. Ultimately your Chirps balance represents a value in euros; when you reach the threshold of 10,000 Chirps, you can convert this into euros which can then be freely spent at any participating retailer.
