All transactions are real time and take place in a secure environment. And perhaps the best yet; there a no monthly fees involved with a Chirp account.
The app is also a full-fledged alternative to the plethora of customer cards in your wallet and digital savings cards on your phone. Chirp offers new, nuisance-free interaction between consumers and retailers in advertising and marketing.
Campaigns offered by retailers via Chirp will be automatically registered in your app. This includes any variant of vouchers, loyalty program or gift card, neatly organized in one overview. Participation and redeeming credits always occur according your preferences. Enjoy financial benefits and never miss out on savings again.


When you share Chirp with others and help Chirp grow, we wish to share success with you. Money that we (among other things) save on marketing is reserved for funding Chirps; our own loyalty credits. Under the Early Bird program you’ll receive Chirps when making payments at retailers yourself, but also when your friends start making payments through your efforts as an ambassador for Chirp. The more transactions you and your friends make, the more Chirps you receive. Chirps can be exchanged for euros, which you can freely spend at any participating retailer. Together we create and expand Chirp’s international community.
At the moment, only users of the Dutch App Store and Play Store can create an account with Chirp. When Chirp has obtained the required EMI license, Chirp will become available to every resident of the EU (European Economic Area) with a minimum age of 12.
No, use of Chirp is basically free of charge. Creating an account is free and there are no transaction fees. We don’t need bank cards, so neither associated costs are involved.
At the moment you can only pay at merchants participating at Chirp's Proof of Concept. When Chirp has obtained an EMI license, we will quickly expand and connect retailers in the brick and mortar- as well as in the online realm. Our goal is to have EU-wide coverage including pay points at petrol/EV charge-, leisure-, entertainment & restaurant industry and festival/concert venues etc. You may be of assistance in acquiring retailers through Chirp's Early Bird program.
Similar to a bank account, your new Chirp account must be funded before you can make payments. You will first need to have a balance. Via the Chirp app you can easily create balance yourself from your bank account via iDEAL, alternatively you may have received payment from other Chirp users resulting in balance.
If you want to transfer (part of) your balance from your Chirp account to your bank account, you can easily do so via ‘Adjust Balance’ in the app. Enter the amount you want to be transferred to your bank account and we will transfer it to your linked bank account within the same day.
With most payment apps (apps from banks, Apple Pay, PayPal, etc.) you still pay from an existing bank account or credit card in the traditional system. At Chirp, things are fundamentally different. With Chirp you do not use the traditional payment chain comprised of banks,credit card companies and third-party service providers. Transactions occur within Chirp's own ecosystem between its own platform accounts. Chirp’s extremely efficient transaction platform can now offer more services than just payment.
Chirp does its utmost to prevent unauthorized access to personal data, balances and credits by deploying advanced security architecture and solutions. Robust an redundant systems provide 24/7 performance and accessibility. Euro- transfers from your Chirp account to the banking realm can only take place to a bank account authorized by you. Unless you explicitly indicate that you want to share information with other specific users of the Chirp platform, Chirp will not share your personal data with third parties.
